NYCTFF Spotlight Screening: Friction
Friday, August 12 - 8:00 pm
Magno theaters, nyc
The proceedings of the ticket sales will support securing a larger venue to showcase the films of the teen finalists, to publicize the festival, and to provide a monetary prize to the winner as well as funding for the future development of the NYCTFF.
ONE OF OUR JUDGES, OGECHI MUSA, has been selected as the spotlight judge to screen her powerful feature film in efforts to raise funds for the festival.
WRITTEN, PRODUCED, AND DIRECTED by Musa, "Friction" tells a story rooted in human ignorance, bias, and greed, taking an in depth exploration of police brutality and racial inequality.
Musa creates raw artwork centered around social justice and self-empowerment; in a time when these issues are especially relevent, this film is a must see.
